Biography
Ryan Babbage is the Founder & CEO of OceanMerge® and OceanBlocks, and is based in the UAE. With 21 years in M&A, he works between Australia and the GCC – the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia – placing technology, businesses and IP with right-fit partners for commercialisation or investment.
OceanMerge is an IP commercialisation, capital and cross-border strategy firm licensed in Dubai (IFZA, Dubai Silicon Oasis). It is seeding its presence in Qatar and helps clients seed into Saudi Arabia and Oman. OceanBlocks – Engineering the Future of Clean Energy – is a clean energy and hydrogen developer registered in ADGM, Abu Dhabi.
His ventures also include MindGo, which focuses on living well in older age and staying connected, and he is Corporate and Brand Strategist for Stacked Up, an Australian social-first wellness brand. He invests in early-stage technology companies, and was a Director of Eastern Innovation Business Centre Ltd (EIBC) from November 2018 to July 2021.
He holds an MBA (International Business) and a Master of Blockchain Enabled Business, both with Distinction, from RMIT University, and a certificate in Sustainable Business Strategy from Harvard Business School Online (2022).
